Audio: What's your favorite carol or holiday song?

 I love Christmas music.  I have a playlist on my iPod that I let cycle over and over when the kids will let me actually turn off the TV.  So it's hard for me to choose my favorite song.

But one of my favorites is Little Drummer Boy by David Bowie and Bing Crosby.  I also love Baby It's Cold Outside, but I'm not sure which version is my favorite.

If you could get everyone in the world to change their behavior in one way, what would you have them do differently?

I wish people would just be kinder to others.  Call me old fashioned, but I'm a big fan of the Golden Rule.  People seem to be so self absorbed these days and it just makes me sad.  Most of us are actually surprised by politeness or random acts of kindness, and I just think that's wrong.

Give up your seat to someone on the bus or train.  Hold open the door for that woman with the stroller and unruly toddler.  Help an elderly person with his or her bags at the airport.  Buy some random person's lunch at a fast food drive-through.  Just try to make someone's day.  :)

How are you celebrating Halloween today?

Halloween might possibly be my favorite holiday.  It's a tough choice between Halloween and Christmas, but I like them for different reasons.  But I usually put as much into my Halloween decorating as I do my Christmas decorating.  :D  Ok, maybe not AS much but it's close.  :)

I like to go all out.  The yard is full of tombstones, skeletons, creepy cobwebs, spooky stones, and other frightfully fun things.  It's been a little warm here during the day, though, so my pumpkins are already starting to collapse.  :(  I'll go take pictures in a bit before they rot completely.

It's always tough for me to decide if I want to take the kids trick-or-treating around the neighborhood or stay home to pass out candy.  I love seeing all the costumes, and the kids always get a big kick out of our decorations.  I play the spooky music and have the screaming doormat.  Get's 'em every time.  :D

Sometimes our neighborhood has a block party, but no one stepped up to the plate this year so we're just trick-or-treating.  We'll watch "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" and then hit the sack.

I miss the days of watching the horror film marathons, though.  It's going to be a while.  lol

What are your top five favorite cooking seasonings?

You know, I actually really love to cook.  I just wish someone else would clean up afterwards.  :D

For obvious reasons I make a lot of Asian flavored dishes.  So my top five seasonings are:  ginger, garlic, chili powder, garam masala, and probably turmeric.  I use them quite a bit.

Do professional athletes make too much money, or do they deserve every penny?  Why?

They absolutely do, but it's all about supply and demand.  Our society places a high value on entertainers in general.  Take a look at the salaries some of these actors are demanding per film.  It's unreal.  And we complain about the high prices of movies.

Professional athletes have a skill, no doubt.  But they're also human beings who break.  It kills me to see these high profile athletes who get these absurd signing bonuses and then blow out their knee only to ride the bench the rest of the season.

Yet our schools don't have enough money and funding to buy current text books.  Talk about priorities being out of whack.

What shows are you looking forward to in the new fall TV season?

Oh, I am all about the new season of House because some SOB got me hooked on that damn show.  :-D

I'm also looking forward to CSI...although, if Sarah stays under that car the whole season, I don't think I'll mind.  LOL
